So why is it that I always have such trouble with computers? I take care of mine! I keep them updated and scan them for viruses on a regular basis! I show them all the love in the world and how do they repay me? By breaking down prematurely! My new laptop that I bought back in Feb/March (may I remind you to replace the desktop that stopped working) has thrown a fit! I went to turn it on the other day and the monitor did nothing! I had all the lights come on and I could hear the welcoming sound of the Windows music starting, but nothing appeared or even flashed on my nice big LCD display. Not even a hint of any kind of anything! So I call HP today (because the website told me to call them first for trouble shooting rather than taking it someplace to be looked at) and of course there is "not much we can do over the telephone since your monitor is not working." Well, DUH!! So my next option is to send it in to them. Well, is there a store I can take it to? Yes, they respond, Best Buy. OH NO (refer back to journal entries in January 2007)!!!!!!!! Any other places? Yes, they respond, CompUSA and RadioShack. Whew! That was a close one.

Ok, so the closest CompUSA is in Little Rock, AR about 3 hours away! Alright, so RadioShack it is. They've got answers, right? Apparently not! I take my laptop there and talk to the sales rep and show him my problem. Uhhhhh, I don't know what to tell you. Well, the HP guys said I could bring it in to you and if you couldn't fix it then you could send it in to them since it is still under warranty. Uhhhhhh, well I suggest that you take it and have it shipped to HP since it is still under warranty. Ugh, that is the one thing I am trying not to do because I wouldn't have the first idea of how to get it shipped in and I want you to do it for me!!!!!

Ok, so now I have to take it in to the Geek Idiots because if I don't then it will have been something so simple as screwing in a light bulb. I'm waiting in line and trying so hard to keep myself calm so that when I get to the front I don't blurt out: You better not screw up my computer like you did last time! Ok, I am calm. I explain my problem and even flip open the computer and turn it on for them to see. One long beep followed by two short beeps. That is what my computer has been doing when I turn it on this week. Well, apparently that means something and this geek (but cute) idiot doesn't seem to remember what it means. So he hollers to the back, What does one long beep and two short beeps mean? He turns around and stands in the doorway (nice chance for me to look at his butt) and waits for a response. An older geekier guy comes out for the back and I hear the end of the sentence, . . . but you still need to run a diagnostic because you can't always believe what the computer tries to tell you is wrong. Older geek looks up at me and flashes me a smile and then, Hello. Ugh, I'm not here for you to hit on me I am here to see if you are at least competent enough this time around to fix my computer! Older geek leaves and cuter geek looks at me and says, It's either your LCD or your motherboard. Ok, so I know what both of those are, but simple telling me what the possibilities of error are doesn't tell me what you or I can do to fix the problem. I could have told you already that it was a LCD problem! So that means? You need a new computer, cute geek responds. So since this computer is still under warranty what can you guys do about it? Did you buy it here? No, but it is under manufacturer warranty. Do you have a reciept? Not with me (I don't carry receipts around with me everywhere); but HP said you guys could look up the warranty information. Uhhh, I don't know what you are talking about. We can't work on a computer under another companies warranty unless we have a receipt and even then we have to ship it to their service center.

Back to square one!!! So now I am going to have to go tomorrow and see about getting this shipped back to HP. Computer, why must you treat me so badly? I have been so good to you! I am no longer able to get on Facebook or MySpace or LiveJournal at work so now I will probably go for days without getting to check any of those regularly! And my iPod will be stuck with Christmas music on it well into the New Year! I'll be reduced to using my car radio and CD player again!

So I found out last night that my brother got accepted to U of M and will be starting classes in January. One step closer to getting all the plans together. Now just have to sit down with roomie at some point between now and then and decide what needs to move out of the office and what can stay! And I figure I better go ahead and start packing for the move out of this good ol' apartment come May. It's going to be fun having my little brother here! The best part is that he is bringing his nice grill and smoker! Can't wait for good barbecue! : )

In the world of work, this week is the start of our new "patient centered care" model of case management. I'm enjoying working with the good ol' Surgery B team. I'm also covering neurosurgery this week and they are, of course, giving me more trouble than my own team of docs! Two people to send out for MRIs in the last two days (our MRI is broken at the time)! Oh well, I only have a few more days with them and then I won't have to worry about them anymore! Just my good ol' Surgery B guys!

All in all, life is good and I am content.

Well, I can come up with a subject, but sometimes I am just posting general stuff and there is nothing to be specific about when deciding on a subject. Anyhow, I'm still in training for my case management job and I really am falling quite comfortably into my new regular job. There are definitely some things that I never dreamed about doing, such as reports and keeping track of data and so on, but I'm up for the challenge and once I learn how to do it I'm sure it will become so routine that I won't know the difference. Training should be wrapping up here in the next few weeks or so and then I'll be on my own! Thankfully I'll be working with general surgery and thoracic surgery patients! I just could not stand working with medicine patients; they are too complicated usually!

My sister is about 9 weeks pregnant with her second child and I am so very excited! She miscarried a pregnancy back in December last year and so we are all pretty excited about this. She went in today for an ultrasound. Her nurse practitioner scheduled one just for my sister's peace of mind. My sister has been pretty worried with this pregnancy since the miscarriage. Hopefully my sister will be sending me the pictures from the ultrasound soon! It will be nice to have another niece or nephew to spoil! : )

My brother was in town this weekend for an ultimate frisbee tournament. It was loads of fun even though my face is a brightly glowing red color today! I got to go out all day Saturday and Sunday to watch him and his team play. Having him here this weekend has got me excited about next year. He will be graduating from his current college come December and plans to start another Bachelor's degree here in Memphis come January. I'm going to start looking for a house to buy so that he will be able to move in with me and my current roomie. I'm excited to be moving, but also excited to have my little brother be so close. Even though he is only two hours away right now, it has been hard in the past to go see him. Soon he will be living with me!

Heroes new season starts tonight! I'm very excited for more new shows to get started. I'll probably be watching the new show "Chuck" and then "Heroes." Not much else that I can say I would be interested in for Monday night. I might end up getting sucked into the reality world of The Bachelor, but I already have enough reality shows to watch right now (ANTM and Real World). We'll see though. I'm just excited for a new season of shows and the satisfaction of knowing that I will always be able to get home from work in time to see them (if I miss them due to recreational plans then that is totally okay with me)!

Okay so I started a new job this week! I don't know if any of my past journal entries every alluded to the fact that I was looking for a new job, but anyway! I am still at the same hospital and I will probably always stay at this hospital unless they come shut it down! Anyway, I have just transferred into the case management department. This is a Monday through Friday kind of job. I would say it is a 9-5 job, but the truth is it is one of those jobs where you can never really tell when you will be done for the day. I have always had an interest in case management. It really is a more holistic approach to nursing. You have to not only take care of the patients situation in the hospital, but you have to make sure that their necessities are taken care of for when they go home. Of course these first several weeks are going to be training, but I'm looking forward to the new job! I'm just going to be glad to have a life on the weekends and to try and get involved with church again!

Okay, so I just finished the last and final Harry Potter book. I will not give away any details about the book in case there is someone who reads this before reading the books. But I will say that JK Rowling is a brilliant author and in my opinion joins the ranks of other great authors such as CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. I know there are probably other authors out there that some would believe to be better than these mentioned, but in the category of fictional fantasy I must say that Rowling has created a world so thorough that it puts her up there with Tolkien and Lewis' fictional worlds! The emotions I felt while reading the last book were much like the emotions I experienced while reading the last of "Return of the King" and I never felt I would be able to experience such range of emotions like that while reading a book! I'm sure there will be lots of upcoming literature comparing Harry and Frodo in the future. There are such close similarities and I'm sure some would argue they are too similar. But I feel credit is due to Rowling! Tolkien may have inspired Rowling, but she created this wonderful world of Hogwarts and developed it with her own unique beauty. All in all I was beautifully surprised at her last book, but there was also a comfortable awareness that this was how it should end. If you have not read any of these books, then start now!

I totally forgot that my last entry in here was two weeks ago when I stayed overnight! Well, this weekend I decided to do the smart thing and check if night shift was short and then just go ahead and volunteer to switch to night shift instead of getting suckered into a 23 hour shift! So I got to come in at 7 pm today and will be here till 7 am. So fa so good and I'm much more awake than the last weekend I worked! : ) Everything is chilling for right now and I should get a little busy when I get a new admit and that will help me get through my sleepy down time.

I'm afraid that I have decided not to go back to school. I have talked myself out of it because I just don't want to stretch myself thin in the financial department. And also I only have three years of nursing under my belt and I feel like I should work longer before I start teaching it. So for right now school is on hold again.

I will be starting a new job soon. Well, it's not official yet, but I have heard from reliable sources that I have got the job as a case manager at the hospital that I'm currently working at. I'm very excited about it and I have always had an interest in case management. I still plan on picking up some extra shifts on the weekends to keep my bedside skill up, but I'm very excited about a M-F 8-4 job with weekends off and holidays off!

Well, I'm getting a call from another department. That will be it for tonight.

Okay, so I'm a really nice person and I decided to help out my fellow co-workers by volunteering to stay over until 3AM! Actually it shouldn't be such a bad night, I just have to find enough stuff to do to keep me awake! This will be the first time in a really long time that I will be staying over until the next day to work. I actually don't mind because it is very nice pay! I only wish I could work nights all the time, but I don't think my body could take it! My sleep is too valuable! Anywho, just wanted to pop in and say a few words!

So I decided I wanted to plant some flowers and create a water garden. Since I live in apartments at this time it wasn't plausible for me to create a real water garden, so I bought a barrel planter and turned it into a fountain. And with some help from my roomie who is definitely more knowledgeable about plants and gardening than I am helped design the flower bed pictured above. You should be able to see Povel, the garden gnome, and the turtles Pearl and Earl. Also we have two fantail goldfish named Fred and Wilma who live in the fountain. I also planted some morning glory in the back patio area, but they are just sprouting. Once they start vining up the fence and blooming I'll take some pictures and post them.

Okay, so I haven't been on in awhile, but my family came to visit at the end of April and then I got sick and then I went back to work. I wish I could say I'm better health wise, but I actually went back to the doctor today because my ear was hurting and I now have an ear infection! At least no fever and no general feeling of crappiness. But I have to put drops in my ear 4 times a day!

The family visit was great expect for everyone getting sick! My mom started feeling bad the day of the Chris Botti concert and therefore did not get to go which was the whole point of the trip and was also her birthday present. So me and my roomie and my sister went and it was a blast! He totally rocks out on the trumpet and the rest of his band is sweet as well! I also got to meet him and shake his hand and I had him autograph his live in concert DVD for my mom who missed it all! The whole concert experience made me want to find my old trumpet and pull it out and start practicing (like I will ever be as good as him!). Then I got sick in time for the zoo visit so I missed out on that! : ( Ended up taking two more days off of work due to the illness! : ) Also found out from my parents that they are going to pay off the rest of the payments on my car! YEAH! They felt bad because they have been helping my brother and sister out a lot lately financially and so to make up for it they decided to just pay off my car for me! So even though I felt bad for buying a new laptop with my tax return, it all worked out for good!

Oh and I have actually totally decided that I am going to go back to school. I finally decided that I want to go back and get a masters in nursing education. Tennessee has a program that will reimburse any money you spend on school if you teach at a state run college of nursing for 4 years after graduating, so I'm looking to get the free money! Plus I really enjoy teaching and working with the nursing students when they come to work, so this will just combine my two loves: nursing and teaching. There are three programs in TN, one at U of Memphis, one at MTSU, and one at my old alum UTK. So the plan is to take the GRE and then apply to all three places and then go from there after I see which ones accept me. Of course my family is really rooting for MTSU so I will be closer to them. I just keep telling them it is whatever God wants. And truly I will be happy going to any of those places. Of course it will be easier if I could just stay here because I won't have to worry about moving and such. But I really would be okay with anywhere. So we will see. It will probably be another year or two before I even apply.

Well, now that I have bored the crap out of whoever may be reading this I will let you go now and take a long nap! : )

I'm so totally psyched! Tonight after my roomie and I went out to dinner for her birthday we went to Wal-Mart to stop by and see a friend. Well as we were leaving there was a bin of movies for $7.50 and I found "Red Dawn." For those of you who haven't seen "Red Dawn" then you are totally missing out! It's a 1980's movie with Patrick Swayze, Martin Sheen, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Gray and C. Thomas Howell in it! It's about the end of the Cold War and it's totally low budget, but that is why it is so great! I'm watching it right now as I type!

There is something so great about finding an old movie that you absolutely love! I also bought "School of Rock", "The Last Kiss", and "World Trade Center." I'm a total movie whore!

Okay so today as I was trying to be productive at work I came across this article and I finally understand why it is getting harder and harder to find a good man! The title explains it all, but I will include a link as well. The title of the article is "Number of baby boys declining in U.S.; Japan" Now here is the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18138850/

And if you factor in the fact that the stigma of homosexuality is quickly disappearing that means the number of available men is in on a decline! No wonder I'm still single! Of course it doesn't help either that I'm particularly picky!

That's it! I'm just going to be single for the rest of my life. No, I will not be an old maid, just permanently single. I would rather be single than to waste my time searching for Mr. Right. I declare now that I am totally fine with being a bachelorette.

Okay, so I finally gave in and bought an iPod today! Since I got my new laptop and was putting all my CDs on it, I figured I should get a iPod to put them on as well. And yeah, it is already full! I knew I had a lot of music, but until you see it in GB it doesn't really sink in! : ) But I'm totally excited to be able to plug my iPod in and hit shuffle play and get to listen to all (well, almost all) of my music without changing CDs or anything! Yes, I know, I'm easily amused! Now I just need to get "Under Pressure" because I have had it stuck in my head! Oh well, that is all I can ramble about for tonight! Now off to bed! Maybe I'll listen to my iPod as I go to sleep. Depends on how much battery life my new iPod has.

I'm currently in the process of downloading all my music onto the laptop! It will actually take me a few days considering I have way too many CDs. I can't help that I love music! : ) Anyway, I just wanted to put up a post from my new laptop! Not much else going on.

So I finally got my tax refund back today and I was looking at some of the things I still have to pay off. Turns out I can finish paying off my car loan with my tax refund, so I'm planning to do that instead of getting the laptop right now. At least I can still put aside my car payments and save up for the laptop. I'm just glad that this will finally be MY car!

Oh and on another note I have to write about my freaky weird incident the other night. I worked on Wednesday and came home to watch the all new episode of Lost (which was pretty freaky itself) and then after talking with my roomie for a little bit I went to bed to get some sleep before the next work day. So it was about 10:30 when I laid down in bed. Next thing I know I'm wide awake at about half-past midnight wanting to just tear the flesh off of me because it is itching so badly! I had to like force myself to stop! I get up to get some lotion thinking it might be because of the cold weather and my skin is dry, but when I turn on the lights my arms are covered in hives! My legs are really red looking as well. My mind starts racing then because I'm not allergic to anything and I had not done anything in the last 24 hours to introduce my body to anything new! My roomie is still awake and I show her the hives on my arm. Fortunately she has some topical benadryl spray and I start spraying away at my arms and legs. It is some comfort, but it still takes me a couple of hours to get back to sleep. I decide to set my alarm a little early so that if I'm still covered in hives when I wake up then I will call into work and go see a doctor. Well, when I wake up there is no sign at all that I ever broke into hives or anything! Maybe it was just a dream, but it certainly didn't feel like it!

So I head to work extremely tired because I probably only got about 4 hours of sleep. Once I get to work and get settled into the workday I start talking to some of my co-workers. After I finished my story one of them was like, "Stress." I was like "What?" She told me she breaks out like that every time she gets stressed out. As she starts describing it I vaguely start remembering that stress can cause an allergic type reaction. Turns out my co-worker has it worse than me though. She breaks out into hives for a couple of hours and then afterwards has a horrible rash for at least a week or so! She has actually just started working with us so she has been a bit stressed out lately too so she showed me the rash on her arms! It looked like a really, really, really bad sunburn! I asked her if there was anything she took. She said she had been to the doctor several times and had gotten some different shots, but none of them seemed to help. I'm just glad I don't have that nasty rash afterwards!

Anyway, I felt better knowing that at least one other person has had this happen to them. As I drive home last night I call my parents and turns out my grandfather had this happen to him too (my dad didn't know all the details because he was young and didn't remember). So that is at least another person as well! The funny thing about this is that I know I'm feeling some stress because I am working in a new area, but I have had other times in my life where I have been way more stressed out and emotional unstable than I am right now. I thought since I knew what had caused the hives that I would be okay, but no I woke up again last night with another breakout! Maybe I'm dreaming about something that stresses me out! Who knows! Now I've just got to get out today and buy some more Benadryl spray and oral benadryl!

Well, I ended up taking off Saturday and today so that I could have a long weekend to come and visit my family. My little cousin, Josie, just turned 2 years old today and there was a big party for her. Of course my aunt had a photo album with pictures of my cousin of the last couple of years and I just can't believe how much she has grown up. I feel the same way when I see my nephew (who will be three in July). Time has gone by so quickly and it doesn't even seem possible that that much time has passed. I'm starting to feel really old! Scary to thing that in another five years I'll be turning 30! I can now understand why women always stop at 29!

Of course sometimes what makes me feel old is just seeing what other people my age have done with their life. On the one hand seeing my friends that are married and starting to have kids makes me feel super old. But also seeing people my age who are still living with their parents makes me feel old too. I guess I'm just at a stage in life where I feel old. At least I still feel young at heart though! And at least as I was watching the Grammy's tonight it felt good knowing all the newest artist and being able to sing/rap along to them all! : )

Well, I'm starting to get a little droopy eyed so I better be off to bed.

Okay, so I just filed my taxes the other day and I can't wait for my refund to come! I'm planning on getting a new laptop and also will be getting a new cell phone once I get the refund back. I've decided to let my roomie have the desktop and I'm going to upgrade to a laptop so that when I do go back to school I will have something portable that I can use. I'm also going to get a Palm Treo for my new cell phone for future back to school endeavors. Of course I can get use out of these things right now so I'm buying now so that when I do go back to school I won't break the bank! So I really can't wait for the tax refund to come rolling in! It will be great! You know I really could marry a rich guy and become that wife who just goes out and spends money all day! Sad, but very true. Of course I wouldn't be spending all that money on just clothes and shoes and accessories, but I would still be spending it! : )

Well, that's really all I had to say today. Just thought I would share. Now I'm off to research laptops for my not so distant future purchase. Ta-ta.

Okay, so sorry about the last entry! I was bored at work and still very mad at Geek Squad and had to do some venting, but I didn't mean for it to turn into a novel. Anyway, I'm still really mad at the Geek Squad people, but am trying really hard to get over it for my own health! I will just say though that they still managed to screw up my computer and they never came me a full refund, but at this point I have realized that they will not change their minds. So I am ending my pursuit of a full refund and now moving on with life. Computer is finally working okay at this point, but only because of some great friends chipping in and helping out! Okay, so I haven't been able to post anything lately because my computer totally went kaput. My roommate got the blue screen of death several times about two weeks ago when she was trying to check email and such. We had been having troubles with it for awhile but I was dragging my feet about it. So I finally decided to take the computer in. I decided to go to Geek Squad because I figured they would do a good job! Boy was I wrong!

First they tell me that nothing is wrong with it without even looking at it only because the stupid computer turns on for them! I told them it runs slow and that we had had it shut down on us several times. I requested they run a diagnostic test on the computer (I had to suggest it, they didn't even bother suggesting it!). So they start ringing me up and then of course start suggesting all these "extras" that aren't even needed! After I pay I ask them how long it will take. They inform me that after three or four days they will call me and let me know what they find out. I am okay with this because there were a lot of people there dropping off computers so I realize they get a lot of business and it may take a few days for them to even start working on it. So I leave and don't worry about a thing.

Well, I get a call on Friday night from them and they tell me that the computer has been infected with spyware. I actually had a very strong suspicion that this was the case before I even took it in. They tell me it will cost $199 to clean it up. They also ask if I would like to buy SpySweeper and have it installed by them. How much? Only $29.99. I don't realize that you can get anti-spyware for free so I say okay because I figure if I buy it from McAfee then it will be about the same. They say they will call when it is ready. At this point I am totally satisfied with all the arrangements even though I'm not that happy about how much I am spending, but I know that computers are pricey and people who are skilled in fixing these kind of things have gone to college and deserve the money they charge.

Well, then it gets to be Wednesday and I still haven't heard a word from them and I'm beginning to think they have forgotten about me. I also remember that I had saved tickets to a concert on my computer and if they have to restore it I don't want to lose those tickets because that means calling Ticketmaster! So after I get off work on Wednesday I decide to go to Geek Squad (located in my local Best Buy) and see how things are progressing and also to see if I can get those tickets before they do anything else that might lose them. So I get there and wait. Then finally a guy comes to help me and ask what is going on with my computer. He goes to check and comes back to tell me that they were going to call me and tell me that it needs to be restored. (I don't know when they were planning to call me, but I give them the benefit of the doubt). I tell him I will just pay for the additional work they did and take my computer home now (it's already been a week without it). He goes back to talk with his manager to make sure I can do that, then comes back out and states that I can take it home, but if anything goes wrong and I have to bring it back in then they will have to charge me again. What bull crap is this?!? So I tell him that I would like to get my tickets off before they restore it. His response, "Would you like to back up your computer for $299 up to 9.4 MB?" What?!?! All I have on my computer is music and pictures and games. I don't need to spend 300 bucks on stuff that I can easily get back for free since most of my pictures are also on other peoples computers and since most of my music is already from a CD or burned to a CD, and since all the games I have I own on CD as well. So I tell him that all I need are my tickets. "Well, can't you just get them through your email on another computer?" he asks. "No, I use Outlook Express." He looks at me baffled after I state this and I'm thinking, Okay how much do you know about computers! "Once I get an email through Outlook then it is on that particular computer and I cannot access it through the internet webmail version of my account." "Oh, well I can print them off for you."

At this point I'm beginning to wonder why I even have brought my computer to these Geek Idiots! "Okay if you print the tickets off then you can keep my computer and restore it." He leaves and comes back several minutes later and states that none of the printers would print anything. I'm thinking yeah right! So I ask if he can just hook up the computer for me and I'll email the tickets to another email account that I have. He agrees and after a few minutes I have emailed my tickets to myself. Then I proceed to pay for whatever I have to pay so that in case it is finished over the weekend my roomie can pick it up for me since I was going to be out of town. He rings me up and the total is $281 and some odd changes. I'm a little baffled because I thought over the phone they had quoted me a charge of $199 for the clean up and $30 for the SpySweeper. That does not add up to be anywhere near $281 even if taxes are included. I'm just ready to leave so I pay and head to the car. I look at the receipt and they have also charged me $29 to install the SpySweeper which they never told me and also as I may have mentioned before they never told me that I could get anti-spyware stuff for FREE on the internet. They did tell me they would need my restore disc and other software discs that came with my computer. So the next day after work I take all that stuff in. I figure that surely they will be done by Saturday or Sunday.

Well, then it is Monday and there is still no call, so I wait until Tuesday and call them from work to find out what the heck they are doing with my computer. "Your computer is being restored now. I can't tell you when it will be done, but hopefully tomorrow." I feel slightly better at this point. I just figure they are busy with lots of computers. Well about 30 minutes after that call I get a call on my cell phone and it is the Geek Idiots again double checking to make sure that I didn't want to back anything up. WHAT!?!?! I thought you stupid people had already started the restore! At this point I am fed up with all this crap! I tell him that no I don't want a back up and then hang up. Wednesday comes along and no phone call. I felt like crap and so I didn't really feel like going down to the store and chewing them out. Thursday comes and still no call by 2:00pm, so I head down to the store.

After another long wait in line I finally get addressed and ask what is going on with my computer. I'm starting to fume because I see a computer that looks like mine just sitting on the floor not hooked up to anything. I was totally ready to start yelling if that was mine because nothing was being done. I think the dude saw that I was mad because he comes back with my computer and just has me sign a paper and gives me all my paperwork and discs back. I am somewhat happy that I did not have to be the witch, but at the same time I also am mad that I didn't have to guts to chew him out anyway.

So I get home and hook my computer up and start re-installing all the programs that I feel like I need. And as I am waiting for the stuff to install I start reading the paperwork that is in my "Geek Squad (IDIOTS)" folder. The first few entries are pretty good sounding and then I come across an entry that says (I will change this to the more exact quote in another entry, but since I'm at work right now I can't give an exact), "?What low memory error? Yeah, sure WOW would play much better if there was another memory card. . ." Oh my gosh! These freaking idiots have been playing WOW on my computer instead of fixing it! That is why it took them two freaking weeks to fix my computer instead of the one day it would have taken me to fix it! Then the next entry talks about doing a 14 day free trail of WOW for "diagnostic testing." What the crap! I paid these idiots nearly 400 bucks to play WOW for two weeks! I guess I'm the idiot now for believing them.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that everything they did is probably something I could have done myself and the money I spent could have bought me a whole new computer tower! The point I'm trying to make is don't take your computer to Geek Squad. Try fixing it yourself and if you can't then just buy a new one. It is so not worth the pain and torture that I went through!

Well it was last year since my last post! A lot has happened in that time. I'm currently working in GICU like I wanted to do before I left for Costa Rica. It is nice to have a change in work scenery! New people to figure out and like or dislike! And it is also a nice challenge and makes me think about stuff. Not that I didn't think before, but I was kinda in a rut. Amazingly enough the ICU is not as uptight as I thought it might be. Pretty relaxed and everyone likes to have fun. But of course there are slackers there just like anywhere in the working world! I wish I could just pay these slackers to stay home and keep my day nice and pleasant, but I don't make that kind of money! : (

No New Year's resolutions for me because it's a lame excuse to make changes! If you know there is something you should change then make the resolution no matter what the time of year! That's just my opinion!

Boy in question from last year is gone. Saw him maybe twice when I got back from Costa Rica and that was it. He also transferred to another area within the hospital and that's cool. He did text me the other day after Christmas to ask how my holiday had been. I'll let him be the pursuer if he wants to be.

Only bad thing about transferring to a new area: meeting more people who want to set you up with the residents! I'd rather not for right now!

Okay so I'm a terrible person and have not gotten on here in a very long time to post anything. But I've been totally busy getting back into work and learning my new area and being in orientation. Plus there was the holiday and my birthday and trying to figure out what days I needed to request off for the upcoming holidays! I've just been pretty busy.

Oh and then there was the computer problems! First it started with the internet company having a breakdown of service and then it was like after that my computer (which is only a couple of years old) decides to act up. It was running very very very s l o w l y ! So I had to do some cleaning up and remove some programs I wasn't using anymore. Then I thought my internet would start working again, but it didn't! So then I spent an hour out of my sleep time talking on the phone with someone who barely spoke english trying to tell me all the things I could do to try and get my internet working again! Finally we got to the last option which was to restore my computer to a previous date. Of course now my computer is restored to a previous date which is before I cleaned up the computer. But it is running okay now. Of course I know I'm tempting the fates by not doing something pro-active about the potential for my computer to start running slowly again, but what can I say. I guess I'm the gambling type!

Well, I better get off to bed. Even though I have tomorrow off my parents are in for the weekend and my dad is always up by 6:00 AM even on his off days, and since I'm sleeping in the living room I know I will wake up when he does! At least I'll get to sleep in the car on the way to Searcy to see my brother! Sleep tight everybody!
